The excellence of french education at Lycée La Bourdonnais

Established in 1953, Lycée La Bourdonnais (LLB) is the first renowned educational institution accredited by the French Ministry of Education. Located in the heart of Plaine Wilhems, LLB is the only international school on the island that offers a continuous, graduated program from primary school to the final year of high school (ages 5 to 18). This ensures a seamless academic journey culminating in the prestigious baccalaureate, with an exceptional pass rate, granting graduates access to leading international institutions and top universities worldwide.

At Lycée La Bourdonnais, French is the primary language of instruction, with English playing an important role from elementary school onwards. The British International Section (SI) is offered from Grade 1, reinforcing the school’s commitment to high-level English proficiency. In addition to teaching foreign languages such as Spanish, German, and Mandarin, LLB offers European and International Sections programs, recognising the importance of multilingualism in a globalised world.

Lycée La Bourdonnais also supports students with special needs through its ‘Avançons Ensemble’ program, ensuring inclusive education.

Dedicated to excellence and the holistic development of students, the school offers a wide range of pedagogical programs that integrate artistic, cultural, linguistic, and scientific aspects, nurturing exemplary citizens ready to face future challenges.
