February 5th, Wednesday • Stand-up and theatre Play (FR) Le Cabaret d’Alexandre at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

February 21st to 24th • Ballet Gala Chinese and Western Ballet Gala at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

‍Experience the elegance and grandeur of classical ballet with the "Chinese and Western Ballet Gala," presented by the acclaimed Liaoning Ballet, one of the most famous ballet troupes in China. Showcasing iconic works like Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and La Sylphide, alongside Chinese-inspired masterpieces such as Mulan Pas de Deux and Jasmine Flowers, this gala offers a captivating blend of tradition and innovation. Performed by world-class dancers, this 90-minute production promises an unforgettable celebration of ballet artistry.

‍February 12th, Wednesday • Chopin Piano Concerto No.1 by Congyu Wang at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

‍Praised as a “complete musician – a sensitive artist and an extremely talented young pianist,” Steinway artist Congyu Wang is an internationally celebrated soloist renowned for his performances as a recitalist, accompanist, and chamber musician. After the success of his first recital in Mauritius back in 2024, Congyu Wang returns to Mauritius with Chopin Piano Concerto No.1, in collaboration with Ensemble 415.

February 19th, Wednesday • Concert (CR) Dann Santié with Gwendoline Absalon & Anonym at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

‍Dann Santié tells the story of Reunion Island and Mauritius Island, forged by the connections illustrated by artists Gwendoline Absalon, from Reunion, and Anonym, from Mauritius. With their bewitching voices and melodies, they will tell you the stories of their respective music, weaving links between these two cultures that are so close yet so far apart.

February 28th, Friday • Concert Segazz with The Thomas Brothers & Babani Records at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

‍After a memorable concert in 2021, the Thomas Brothers are back in force for a second edition of Segazz that promises to be just as exceptional! Once again, they invite you to plunge into their unique universe. To top it all off, they'll be joined by a host of guest artists, including Babani Records, to make this an unforgettable event.

February 8th, Saturday • Parenting Workshop (FR) L'heure des petits at Institut Français de Maurice, Rose Hill

‍L'heure des Petits (Toddlers' time) is a monthly parent-child workshop for toddlers (up to age 3) offering a warm and supportive space for families to learn and connect. The session includes a toddlers-friendly reading session followed by an interactive parenting discussion on “The art of reconciling parenthood and married life”.
Hosted by professionals in partnership with the Ébène Midwife Centre.

February 13th, Thursday • Conference-debate (FR) Can we still believe in love? at Institut Français de Maurice, Rose Hill

‍The talk, followed by a discussion, will be given by Dr. Anouchka Sooriamoorthy, founder of In The Chaos World, that develops philosophical and critical thinking in the professional world.
Everywhere, men and women are wondering about the likelihood of meeting the one who is right for them, about ways of preserving love, about the possibility of loving a single person for a lifetime, about ways of thinking about love despite routine, conventions and arguments. Ever since Plato, philosophers have been questioning the mechanism of love, and while there may not be an answer to the problem of love, there are at least some fascinating reflections! On the eve of Lovers' Day, we'll be asking ourselves whether, in an age governed by productivity, ultraconsumerism and hyper-speed, we can still believe in love. Is it a naïve and illusory belief, or one that can give meaning to life?

We're thinking of motherhood, the place of women in the private and public sphere, and the unspoken things that hold us back from living together.
